The Secrets Of Online Success

Spread the love

Hello and welcome!  We’re so glad you’re here!   We’re guessing you’re already on your way to becoming an online entrepreneur, or you’re in the beginning stages and want some direction as to how to begin.  Rest assured, no matter where you are on your journey, the secrets of online success will apply to you!

Types Of Entrepreneurs

In our time as digital marketers, we’ve done quite a bit of research.  In doing so, we’ve found a few different types of entrepreneurs.  Allow us to quickly define these types and explain why it’s so important for you to just be you.  It’s one of the first secrets of online success we’re going to reveal, so stay tuned!

Types of entrepreneurs

The Tinkerer
This person has high aspirations to make it as an entrepreneur.  In fact, the tinkerer has many great ideas and is very motivated in the beginning.  What happens after a few weeks or months, though, is unfortunate.  The desire to continue fades and instead of building a profitable business, a hobby has been created.

The Shiny-Object Syndrome Smatterer
The Smatterer is similar to that of a tinkerer, but with one major difference.  If you’ve never heard of the ‘shiny object syndrome’, it’s when someone is captivated by this thing and then that, and when another thing comes along that strikes a fancy, it’s followed.  The smatterer is a little more involved in chasing the ‘next best thing’ until eventually, there is a burnout, and what’s been left in the path is money lost and a glorified hobby.

The Know-It-All Nancy
In Know-It-All Nancy’s world, she knows it best, of course!  Just ask her!  She could tell you and everyone else how to make money and do it the right way.  In fact, she could sell you any product because she’s very persuasive.  In most cases, the know-it-alls aren’t making the money they’re preaching about.

The Smart Student
Obviously, it goes without saying that you want to aim to fall into this category!  This is secret #1!  The smart student is one who is teachable and coachable, always going the extra mile to put into practice the things being taught.  This type of entrepreneur is a go-getter and one who is constantly learning.  There is a desire to learn as much as possible, but also to act on tasks.  The smart student will be successful when pairing actionable tasks with our next two secrets of online success.

Fancy A Fortune?

Sure!  Who doesn’t, right?  As we mentioned above, it’s in your best interest to place your focus on building your business.  If you’re only just considering it as an option at this point, we encourage you to put a list together of pros and cons.  Then, list your goals.  Are your goals actionable and achievable?  When you have developed the mindset of a learner, then proceed with our last two secrets.

Terrific Traffic

As an online entrepreneur, you’re likely in the business to help others, right?  Of course, you are!  You might be offering a service to be provided or products that you believe in and are passionate about marketing.  Regardless, you have to find a way to get visitors to your website.  This is called traffic, and it’s secret #2!

You could offer the most epic product, but if you don’t have visitors to your online real estate, then unfortunately, your efforts might not do you any good.  Your website could be the nicest and your content could be stellar, but if you don’t have people finding your work, you won’t make any money.

Certainly, there are several things you could do to drive traffic to your websites.  If you had some extra cash lying around, you could run some ads.  If you’re like us, we tend to focus on free efforts.  For us, we like the option to utilize social media.  At present, our favorites are Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.  You may read more about it here.

Commendable Conversions
Once you have mastered generating traffic to your site, you’re going to want to focus your efforts on the next thing, that when paired with traffic, will steer you toward success.  Secret #3 is conversions!  The way to make sales is to turn your traffic into paying customers.

A quick internet search on the topic will bring you many great results on how to write copy that will help you make sales.  There are fantastic examples for you to view and put your own stamp on.  Create something appealing and that will make your visitor want to have what you’re offering!

We’ve got a few favorite things that we like to include on our sales pages.  It’s important to try to answer any potential questions your visitors may have.  Write your copy in such a way that won’t leave doubt in your readers.  Include testimonials, a guarantee, and be very specific about what your customer will receive.  Keep your reader interested and on your page by including a video.  Use great visuals and don’t be afraid to include your own image!

But!  I’m Not Good At All Three!

Stressed man

Don’t worry!  There is good news!  We don’t suspect that many successful online entrepreneurs are rocking all three categories.  (If you are, please let us know!  We want to learn how you do it!) You’ll likely agree with us that you’re a learner.  A good student, right?  Of course!  You’re here!  So that’s one out of three!  A great start for certain!

I suppose what we’re about to let you in on could be considered secret #4.  Are you ready?  It’s really quite simple.  If you’re great at driving traffic and have your own successful strategies, then the only thing you’re missing out on is someone who can assist you with conversions.  On the flip side, maybe you’re a rockstar at coming up with a superb sales page and you’re converting your customers, when you get one or two.  You’re just not confident in getting new and organic visitors.  Can you relate?

You’re ticking two of the three necessary boxes, which is fantastic!  But you’re wanting sure success, so what should you do?  We recommend finding someone who is willing to team up with you to complement your skills and help you where you may fall short.

There are experts everywhere who are willing to share their knowledge on topics such as driving traffic to your website or writing great sales copy.  You may find some great courses for little or no cost.  If you’re lucky, you’ll find a person who is looking for your strengths to accompany their weakness, and their strength might in turn, accompany your weakness.  Just think about that!  An actual business partnership where both parties are complementing the other’s strengths!

Complacency Can Kill Courses

Here’s what it really boils down to, friend.  If you’re not working as a learner first, you have to change that mindset.  You’re going to want to do the research and have the motivation and drive to continue learning.  It’s a process.  Also, you should be solely focused on driving traffic to your website/(s) and figuring out ways to get your offers to convert.

It’s work, yes.  However, your hard work right now (today) is what is going to pay off in the weeks, months, and years to come.  If you can fall into a routine of working on ways to get your content viewed, convert your visitors to customers, and continue being a smart student, you’ll be successful in no time!  Stay focused.  Don’t follow the shiny-objects.  Find someone who has the strengths you’re looking for and form a partnership!  We know you can do this; we speak from our own experience!

Glass ball - focus

Until Next Time!
